Book Challenge

Wow, I'm going challenge crazy today!

One of my multiple new years resolutions was to read 12 books this year, or a book a month. I've never been much of a reader, but I've always loved the idea of reading... I just get way too lazy and distracted by TV and video games.

So, I haven't chosen my first book yet, but once I do I will post what I am reading... mainly because it's a sure fire way to make me do it. And, thanks to Karen's ping pong table Christmas present, I have transformed one of the rooms of our house into my little den area, so I have the perfect getaway spot.

As always, this challenge is open to anyone! You can read more, or less... just choose a goal and see how you do!

Cheers!

I accept this challenge! And I think your first book should be A Cook's Tour by Anthony Bourdain.

i really want to read his new one... i think seeing it in the store is what prompted this challenge to begin.

At this point, I think my personal challenge will be to actually finish a book. I've got like five with bookmarks sitting in them right now.

Hey! I was going to make myself that same challenge! I have the same problem Chris has. Why do books look so much more interesting in the store than they do on my bookshelf??? And do you plan on reading while playing ping pong?

Oh please - Jed can barely PLAY ping pong these days, let alone play while multi-tasking.

BTW - I finally got my lazy ass around to starting Life of Pi and I am loooving it. You are responsible for getting me some of my very favorite books, particularly Into Thin Air. I am now obsessed with all things Everest. Except trying to climb it.

Maybe you should just challenge Jed to climb Everest instead? After he makes it on Survivor, that is. And after he perfects his ping pong skillz. As if I am one to talk, I am the worst at ping pong ever. I get all upset at people who spin the ball at me. I'm like the two girls playing Ping Pong in that Office episode. I prefer to just talk smack.
