V For Vendetta

I met up with Aaron last night to see V For Vendetta. I had heard some good things about the movie, but in all honesty had no idea what it was about. I thought maybe it would be obvious from the beginning... but it wasn't.

Turns out I can't really catagorize the movie in my own words. Was it sci-fi? No, not really... Drama? I guess, but not all the time... Action? Again, at times...

All I know is, it was 100% unique, and I thought it was really good. Something about the lead character "V", spooky yet intriguing, had my full attention everytime he appeared on screen.

The one thing I didn't like was Natalie Portman's fake accent. To her credit, the accent was spot on... it wasn't the sound of it that bothered me. I guess what did bother me was that it was fake, and we all know it's fake. In my opinion, either use a British actress, or don't use a fake accent. I know it's all 'acting' and that's why she's good, but it still bothers me a little because I focus too much attention on when and if she slips. (Or too much attention on how good it is, which equally takes my focus away from the movie.)

But anyway, that's just being nitpicky I suppose. Overall I thought it was really good in a very weird way. I definitely recommend it.

In the end, I give V For Vendetta a 2 on the watch scale¹. And really, the only reason I looked the second time was because I needed to use the bathroom, and wanted to make sure there was more than a few minutes left.

Cheers!

¹ The "watch scale" is defined as 'the number of times one looks at his/her watch during a movie, tv show, play, etc.' The lower the number, the better the score. A '2', for example, is a pretty good score, while a '5' or above may indicate a complete bore fest.

Kitty Heaven

I know, I know... it's been a long time since I last updated the Poopdeck. So, rather than beg for forgiveness, I will instead post pictures of a very cute little kitty cat in hopes of winning you back.

You see, yesterday, I thought it was time to get the cat a nice new toy. He seems to love climbing things, and he has never had one of those really large cat trees.

Well, now he does.

Take a look at a very excited kitty enjoying his very own "tree with condo".

Enjoy!
