Blue - This Week's Leader (by lbs.)
Red - Overall Leader (by %)
I think I might have gone a little overboard this time around with challenges. I truly wanted to partake in Photogamer, but as it turns out I've fallen so far behind it's become a bit out of reach. I was sick this past week, plus I am transitioning to a Mac (thanks Jim) so my efforts have been elsewhere. Technically, I never added it to my 'active challenges' bar on the left hand side of this page.. and I never officially started it... so I won't chalk this up as a complete failure. Nonetheless, I *will*catch up with project 365, though, so I haven't given up there. Also, regardless of what anyone thinks, I *will* read 12 books this year. That's right, I emphasized *will* in both sentences with these -> * . Therefore, it MUST be true!
Speaking of Mac, though... wow, those machines are amazing. I still have my familiar Windows at home (well, Vista, which is so simple it's confusing), but my primary computer is now a sleek MacBook Pro... with XP running parallel (Again, thanks Jim.). That's good news, seeing as Lopolis got me addicted to a windows only game, Peggle.
This is the first time I've used a Mac, and I knew, literally within minutes, this was a superior machine all around. I'm having the hardest time getting this stupid Vista wireless network working properly, while the Mac is just like... "hmm, ok, I'll connect there."
Sorry for the dorkiness... I honestly don't even really know what I'm talking about... all I know is Apple is one quality company all around, and my new MacBook has already become the best computer I have ever had. (OK, last time... thanks Jim.)
Cheers!
UPDATE: Lopolis just informed me Peggle is available for Mac. As I told him, it doesn't matter much now since Jim hooked me up with anything I could ever possibly need... but good info either way.
Not too long ago, someone mentioned that I should try blueberry coffee. At first I found this to sound a little odd, but I do love coffee and I love to try new things, so I went for it.
Now I am addicted.
It is exactly what is sounds like... coffee that tastes like blueberry... but the combination is a good one. But the best part? You can get it at Dunkin Donuts, so it's a very easy find.
If you like coffee, give it a try. It's oddly intriguing.
Cheers!
Here are this week's results. I will update throughout the day as people send me their weights. Also, I'd like to welcome Meghan aboard the weight loss train... good luck Meghan!!

Blue - This Week's Leader (by lbs.)
Red - Overall Leader (by %)
Our good friend Lopolis has caught my interest in yet another challenge, of sorts. I won't be calling this an official 'Poopdeck' challenge because I already have a few going on (also it is very well hosted by an official website, so I wouldn't want to steal their idea), but I am going to try and add it my daily routine.
Basically, Photogamer is a game you play with your camera. The website posts instructions for the daily photo you need to take, which includes all sorts of random things. So far, I've seen a light bulb, your toes, hair, and some others. Lopolis has been at it for awhile now, but he's very easily peer pressured me into catching up this weekend.
I plan to post all photogamer pics on my flickr account to avoid too much clutter here, so check 'em out if you're interested! (Well, don't check 'em out till the weekend... there's nothing there yet!)
Cheers!
UPDATE: I read the site further, turns out this goes through January unless it's really successful. I guess we'll have to wait and see!
It's that time! The first weigh in of the Jedlebrity Fat Club, 2008, has arrived. This year, I even made a fancy table for easier viewing!

Red - Overall Leader (by %)
So there ya have it! Good results across the board. Lauren, our only female contestant this year, is trying to prove a statement by losing an incredible 8 pounds in the first week. Careful you don't go too quickly though, Lauren, we have a long way to go!
Speaking of which, she brought up a good point last week. The Jedlebrity Fat Club has a finish date this year of Friday, May 23. This just so happens to coincide with Memorial Day weekend, which as we all know is notorious for cookouts and unhealthy food.
Great start everyone, see (less of you) next week!
Wow, I'm going challenge crazy today!
One of my multiple new years resolutions was to read 12 books this year, or a book a month. I've never been much of a reader, but I've always loved the idea of reading... I just get way too lazy and distracted by TV and video games.
So, I haven't chosen my first book yet, but once I do I will post what I am reading... mainly because it's a sure fire way to make me do it. And, thanks to Karen's ping pong table Christmas present, I have transformed one of the rooms of our house into my little den area, so I have the perfect getaway spot.
As always, this challenge is open to anyone! You can read more, or less... just choose a goal and see how you do!
Cheers!
I am totally stealing this from Beckie, but it sounds like the kind of challenge I like to be a part of.
Now, I didn't investigate this with much detail, but it appears to be as simple as taking 1 picture every day for a full year. So, that is exactly what I am going to do.
I don't have a picture from today yet, but I have plenty from yesterday, so I'll start with Jan 1 and post today's picture a little later.
Thanks Beckie! I think this is the first time the Poopdeck has hosted simultaneous challenges!
It's that time again!
The Jedlebrity Fat Club, 2008, has officially begun. This year, we have five SIX strong competitors, so it should prove to be a very interesting challenge. Here they are with their starting weights, in no particular order:
Jed Scattergood: 239
Chris Wallace: 187
Jim Luurtsema: 247
Lauren Carlin: 159
Kyle Hanlon: 257
Aron Fecto: 220
Our next official weigh in will be a week from Friday, 1/11/08. Remember, in order to be eligible for the $100 cash prize, you must submit your weight on the weigh in date or you will be disqualified!
Good luck to all!
